How can I keep things from installing on my SSD?

I wanted to use the SSD I bought (840evo) only for a boot drive. However, nearly anything I download goes to the SSD, even though I want it to go to my larger 1tb HDD. How do I fix this? Keep in mind, I'm a computer noob, dumb things down a but please :)

Go to tools > options and the page that opens (the General Tab) has an option for where you want downloads to go, just make a directory (folder) on your regular platter drive (HD) called DOWNLOADS or whatever and send them there

Depending on the browser or download software you are using then in the options there will be a setting to set which drive/folder you want the downloads to go. If you can list what you are using we can give you instruction on how to change it.
