Hello

Recently I had an issue as shown in this thread.

To deal with this issue, I have ordered a new graphics card. After mounting the new HD 7770 2gb and installing a fresh Windows 7 64 Ultimate + drivers, everything worked smoothly. However, after a few hours, screen graphics started to tear, followed by a freeze and a BSOD.
Now, any time I run the system in normal mode, the same problem happens after a few minutes.Additionally, a blue message saying 'out of range' started showing during the initial few seconds at the start of a boot.

My current setup is:

AMD FX-4100 Quad Processor @ 3.60GHz
ASUS M5A78L-M/USB3 Motherboard
8GB DDR3 RAM
Radeon HD 7770 2GB DDR5 (Was Radeon HD 6850 1GB DDR5 before)
Cooler Master: GX 750W bronze

I have the latest BIOS and drivers installed.

The error code returned after BSODs is: STOP: 0X00000116

I'm asking for help as at this point I have no clue what else to do to fix this problem. Currently, I don't have much money to be swapping and trying out different parts of my PC and software-wise I have no clue what else to do.

Thank you in advance.

It's a combination of coloured lines flashing all over the screen and distorting the view and differrent objects such as text becoming blurred and stretched out.

yeah iv'e brought brand new ones and within a month they have done exactly what your cards doing
ALSO if you could get a chance put the card into another computer and see if the same thing happens that's what the company who sold you the card will probarly tell you to do

In this case, it has started doing it on the same day.

Also, I have tried using a vga cable rather than hdmi and the blue message disappeared, however the problem still occurs. At changing cables, it worked for a good one hour but after the first BSOD, I would get another BSOD almost right after the desktop has loaded.

I forgot to add, the resolution I use is 1650x1080 but the problem occurs on all resolutions. Safe mode works fine though.

Reinstalling video card drivers didn't improve the situation. The screen still tears and sometimes turns black and flashes few times before BSOD happens. Also, the 'out of range' message occurs more often while booting after BSOD restarts, but does not appear after shutting down and booting normally.

Does anyone have any idea what the cause could be? Could it be the PSU or the CPU? Or perhaps the motherboard?
