So yesterday I spilled lemonade all over my mechanical keyboardThe first thing I did was disconnect the USB then turn it upside down to try and let the drink drain. After a few minutes I removed the keys with the key removal tool and wiped down the outer part of the switches as best as I could with damp cotton buds and left the keyboard upside down overnight.

Today I am able to type with it and use it but a lot of the keys are getting stuck and are hard to push down because of the drink.

So does anyone have any idea how to get rid of sticky soda from a keyboard? Will it work its way out by itself? Any help would be much appreciated!

The dried sugary residue is what's making the keys stick. It won't get better on it's own. You have to actually wash the whole thing.

Solution 1. If you have a dishwasher - take the two halves apart, and put everything in the top rack. Low temperature, air dry, and let it run. Take it out and let it dry for a day or two. (Yes, I've done this and it works)

Solution 2. No dishwasher? Do it in the bathtub. Enough water to cover, and slosh it around. You need to dissolve all that leftover gunk. Again, let it dry for a day or two. Not laying flat, but on edge or on end. This allows the water to actually drain out instead of pooling in the bottom. (I've done this as well)
