Andriod 2.3.4 cell phone (HTC / T-Mobile G2 (2010)) is supposed to tether through a USB cable to a PC. My PC is a Dell XPS 410 (2006) with Win 7 Professional and 4 Gb memory. When I View Available Networks it doesn't even see the tether and says I have no connectivity through my Ethernet cables ("an Ethernet cable has been unplugged"). What do I have to do, to make this connection work from the tether (hardware..., software...)?

Thanks,

Well, that was the start of my journey. (Thank you RealBeast.) Let me fill you in the rest of the way. For T-Mobile G2, once you get to RealBeast's HERE (see previous post for link), you need to click the htc.com link in the section titled, "Drivers for computers". When that page loads, go to the bottom (not all the way, but just above the dark gray bar, sort of near the bottom) and select "HTC Sync" link. Please note: Ignore the similarly named, "HTC Sync Manager" link. That is only for more recent HTC cell phones (2012? 2013). The G2 is a 2010 cell phone and trying to download the HTC Sync Manager for an unsupported cell phone, which includes the G2, is a losing proposition. It won't download. Picking the story back up at downloading "HTC Sync", click the link. Now find the download link on the far right near the top of the page. Clicking that link will commence the download process. When finished, install it on the computer. Then when you plug in your USB cable to the computer, from the cell phone, and turn on tethering, and fire up a browser, it will think for a little while, then pull up your intended internet destination page. At that point, you can celebrate.
