Ok so im building a pc and wondering if I can put a sheet of metal under my feet to discharge myself while building a pc. I have a corsair 500r and idk if the painted metal on the back of the case will do the job. Ill still frequently touch it but just wondering.

To be honest I've been in contact with many guys that build pc's for a living and MOST of them say they don't both with this anti static rubbish, if you have a well sorted pc construction area it won't be a problem I.e don't wear socks, and don't work on a carpet floor and really you should be right, it is worth having a grounding point if you are still worried (better safe then sorry) so basically anything AWAY from your computer that is metal will do the job, such as bed frames or a fridge or a table frame doesn't matter. If you do this you'll have no trouble with static!

I don't think a metal sheet will discharge you or it might conduct even more electricity, not sure it's a good idea.

I would get an anti-static wristband instead, especially since those aren't really expensive. You can get one for less than 10$.
