Motherboard holes wont line up

Hi, I recently recieved my Corsair 300R case and my Asus M5A97 motherboard, I'm at the stage of mounting the motherboard inside the case. The case comes with 9 holes and they're in 3 rows of 3, the central hole has a standoff already screwed in. When I slip the motherboard into place the standoff will fit in, but, the other holes don't all line up, maybe one or two. I have tried putting the screws into the ones I can in hope that it will move the motherboard into place, that didn't work. I've tried pushing the motherboard more into the corner (the holes are halfway there) - I've got no idea how to line them up, all help is appreciated, thanks.

Solution

If you have a microATX board, apparently one side is going to be just hanging. Screw in the ones that fit.

Shield is on, case is only supplied with one preset standoff in the middle, the other holes are supposed to be screwed but some of the holes aren't lining up and I think the constant attempts are scratching the underside of the motherboard.

It needs all the other standoffs.

A large, clear picture here would help.
ATX is a standard. All the holes are in the same place.

There is only one stand off provided, the others are like these little bumps. I believe once the holes are lined up you're supposed to screw them in, I'll get some images.. Give me 5 minutes.

Are these little bumps the exact same height as the supplied standoff in the center?

Not quite but the standoff has it's own bump which is considerably smaller. The case did not come with any other standoffs, I'm also having trouble uploading an image unfortunately.

All the mount points for a motherboard need to be exactly the same height.

That's odd but also; would that make some of the holes out of line?

I don't believe Corsair had supplied me with any more standoffs.

Yes, it would make them not line up by just a hair. With a single standoff in the middle....trying to match a hole on the edge is putting the board at an angle. Off by maybe a millimeter. Then, if you were to try to put in a screw on the other side....you're flexing the motherboard.
Do not do this.

All the mount points need to be exactly the same height.

Yeah, I slid out the little cardboard box which had the ties and some various other screws; here's an image of my motherboard when out of line; If you want a specific image I will happily oblige.

I'm afraid the image is not the best.

From AnandTech: http://www.anandtech.com/show/6055/corsair-carbide-300r-case-review-corsair-for-the-masses/3
"First, the motherboard tray is practically a godsend. Corsair doesn't include any motherboard standoffs with the 300R because the tray itself has a single brass stud in the center for lining up the board and then extrusions with mounts built into them. The only flaw with this design is that it's not ideal for Micro-ATX boards, and the side of ours wound up hanging off with no support."

I'm not one hundred percent sure if it's atx/micro atx but there's only 6 holes and I can only fill in about three (incl standoff) those 3 are the bottom 2 and the standoff (Centre) will this be safe enough?

Not my ideal solution, but it seems that's how the case was designed.

Hmm okay, I guess I should be able to screw these ones:

hopefully I run into no issues, thanks for the help.
