First PC Build PLEASE HELP - Are my parts compatible?

Hello everyone, I'm making my first PC build with my friend and down below I have listed the parts we/he chose. I was hoping if you awesome people could please tell me your thoughts on the PC.

Also I just heard that I might need a sound card, but as far as I know and my friend knows (he's 100% positive though) we don't need a sound card. Is this true?

PSU - Corsair CX 500W 80+ Bronze Certified Semi-Modular ATX Power Supply

Optical Drive - Lite-On iHAS124-04 DVD/CD Writer

Operating System - Microsoft Windows 8.1 - 64-bit - OEM (64-bit)

Monitor - BenQ GL2450HM

Yes all parts are compatible. But in my opinion I'd change the psu model (The CX model has been known to have issues as a budget Psu).

Apart from that I think it's a decent build and a good quiet case

Yes but they've chosen a graphics card that will only reach about 65 fps at 1080p max settings (BF4 benchmarks). According to amazon it would cost an extra $100 which isn't worth the upgrade

And to reply to OP, you don't need a sound card :) he's correct

I did see that monitor but it's out of my budget, I already went about £60 over what was planned lol.

Thanks bro I didn't know that, I'll make sure to tell my friend and see if he knew (he chose the parts). If it's not too much to ask, could you possibly be able to suggest a substitute to my graphics card that is roughly the same price or even lower maybe? It's about £152 on Amazon ($252). My monitor seems to be the best for my budget and its 74Hz (if that makes a difference for you).

I have bought half the items already, next month i will buy the mobo, cpu, cpu cooler, RAM and the graphics card.

Also you said max settings, I've heard of ultra settings, is that the same thing? As you can probably tell I haven't played BF4 on PC yet.

Max settings would be ultra with everything else maxed AA etc. Also depends what you want. The GTX 760 is faster but costs $50 more and the 7950 is cheaper. the 760 would also come with other features such as physx. It's entirely up to you on whether you want to spend %50 more or less
