Well, I don't know if it is actually Nvidia Optimus that when your AC adapter isn't plugged in, it doesn't use the NVIDIA graphic card. When it's plugged in, it does. Is that called NViDIA Optimus? If yes, tell me if that can be disabled.

Yes, that is Nvidia optimus making you crazy.
Yes it can be disabled.
You should be able to disable this feature in the BIOS.
I can't give you exact directions where to find this, as i have not experienced this Optimus feature personally, but i believe you will have to either disable Intel Graphics all together, or disable the Optimus feature.
I believe both can be done in the BIOS, though.

The optimus feature does not need to be disabled if you set it up correctly and set your games to run on the discrete gpu. Personally, since i also use my gaming laptop for school purposes, i love that optimus automatically switches to the integrated graphics for non gaming applications automatically without me having to mess with settings all the time. Then, when i'm either plugged in, or switch the power plan, i can game hard. Basically it's just a power saving feature
