I'm building a new PC for my son...my fist build.
Here's the core pieces.
Asus M5A97 LE R2.0 ATX AM3+ Motherboard (BIOS version = 1903 everything is default settings)
AMD FX-6350 3.9GHz 6-Core Processor (verified there are no bent pins and it is seated correctly)
G.Skill Ares Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1866 Memory (I've swapped the chips in all combinations)
WINDOW 7 Pro - (not sure if this matters)
Problem:
The BIOS sees that there are 2 memory sticks that are 4 GB each. but only says there is 4 GB available. In memory it says that the memory is running at 1600 mhz (if I change to 1866, it does not boot)
The OS says there is 8GB but only 3.93 available.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks
