ive heard yes and no,

then I thought, ive played ps3 games on my 46 inch monitors at 1080p never noticed pixilation, wouldn't this be much better, not worse

It's a personal choice and of course a lot of forum people are really fanatical about there opinions. As long as there are people who prefer one or the other, then there is no clear answer. You have to pick for your self.

Yes, a 27" screen will have far less pixelation than a 46" screen, but then you don't view it from the same distances, how noticeable that is will vary depending on viewing distance.

This site will tell you the optimum distance sit away from the display, you just have to type the size and resolution. It tells you to sit around 40 inches away from a 27" 1080p monitor and you will not notice any pixels. http://isthisretina.com/
Hope this helps. :)

Maybe its my fault for not explaining the purpose of the website. It is not telling to sit that far of a distance from the display, it is just telling you when the pixels are not distinguishable. I agree with you that sitting that far would be impossible to use the monitor. Hope this helps. :)

If 1080 does not look sharp on the 27" I would invest in a 1440p resolution monitor. I have a 1440p monitor it is truly a great experience just using for everyday tasks with all of the real estate and having 5 windows up with ease and gaming, and pixel density is the same as having a 20" 1080p screen, but on a 27" screen! There are many brands today making 1440p display solutions from Korean companies like Acheivia, Qnix, Yamakasi, or go with a general manufacturer like Dell, ASUS, Samsung, and NEC. I personally think 1080p on any screen size above 23" gets jaggy, but that is my opinion and others may not mind and just need what gets the job done.
