i get very hot in my new used cpu intel core 2 q9400

whats the problem

what's in the link?................... heat could mean no or improper thermal paste on the cpu before the heat sink was in stalled.... improper installation of heat sink and fan.

motherboard BIOS may need to be upgraded.......................... or maybe a reset of the cmos................

what cpu did it replace and on what motherboard?

Hi,
Link doesn't work. (facebook is kinda private )
1- check for dust in the fan.
2- might want to replace thermal paste. You system is at least 4-5 years old and the paste might of cooked.
3- defective fan but that's a long shot.
