I have a Belkin N600DB Router Edit: Model #F9K1102V1 and I play Rift.

Rift uses TCP ports 6520 through 6540 so how on earth do you set this range on this router?

I already watched that but the details are a bit fuzzy so it was hard for me to understand exactly what to do. I've even looked at the instruction manual from Belkin but it was no help either.

I am looking for a simple step by step "how to set ports or ports forwarding for Rift" and that seems to be unavailable anywhere. I even tried to reach a Belkin technician but they did not answer the line.

Probably a poor option for me...but I am a visual learner and it is difficult to "see" what goes where and what I really need to input.

argh....I hate not being able to understand this stuff. So I really need a "how to set ports for dummies" if it exists.

well, that would probably work if I could actually see it. It comes up fuzzy and very small. I tried to import it to my paint program and enlarge it enough to read it, or make it clear enough to read, but failed.

Is there any way to make it easier to see?

That is much clearer. However, it only shows single ports. What I need is to set a range like this:
TCP ports 6520 through 6540

And I still don't understand where I put Rifts isp address...it looks like all I use is mine.

Sorry to be so dense, but I am an extreme novice in this stuff.

I want to thank you for this. I truly appreciate this information.

I had no idea what I was to do and, of course, the instructions I got directly from Belkin failed to cover a few things that I would have totally done without. Missing those steps could have caused enormous problems. Its like buttoning up a shirt with the buttons going into the wrong holes and missing one entirely.

I have one more question. Since both my son and I play Rift, but from two different computers, do we have to set this up separately ...one for each computer with separate static ip addresses?

Thanks, I will do more checking before I do anything rash. I would hate to think I set it for both PC's only to find it blocking one of them instead. Appreciate your assistance.

:)
