Just build my fist custom PC, im using the HDD form my old pc, its a sea gate baracuda. when i first turn it on it said :
reboot and select proper boot device or insert boot media.

i dont know what i did, i think i pressed afew keys on the keyboard and it changed to another screen saying:

1. AMD AHCI/RAID Win XP Driver
2. FreeDOS command promp
please choose 1 ~ 2

I have no idea what to do, never had to do anything liek this before, could ou please hepl me?

one problem i that the harddrive has windows 7 on it from my old pc, before i put it in i ran a Sysprep, someone had told me that would let me use the same windows on the new pc.. i have another copy of windows 7 lying around so if i 100% need to i can open that and instal it, t would this mess up the HDD as windows is already on it?

i dont have any data on this HDD that i want, nothing important. How can i completely wipe the HDD?

You set the dvd drive to be the first boot device in the BIOS

insert the disk and then restart by clicking the rest button or holding the power switch .
When the comp restarts it will boot from the dvd and you begin the install by following the instructions .
Ideally partition and format the drive [ it may or may nt , give you those as options .

The catch is that if you are using an oem version of 7 it may not activate on your new mb . It might if you phone activate and are nice .

Once windows is installed you will have a desktop in low resolution . Run the disk that came with the mb to install the mb drivers .
Often helps to choose a custom install and not load up with the bloatware crap they want you to install .

Once that is done download and install the latest graphics driver for your OS and graphics card

Now you have a working system
