I wanna boost my frames while gaming a bit and was wondering why overclocking my HD 7950 isnt doing anything? It seems to top off at round 45-50 fps on High settings. Maybe my cpu bottlenecking a bit?

My specs are:

GPU: Sapphire redeon HD 7950
CPU: AMD fx 6100 OC 3.6 mHz
PSU: Corsair 600W
Ram: 8GB Kingston 1600

Depends on how much of an overclock you're pushing your GPU to.

Also could be your CPU holding you back a little bit.

The fx-x1xx series was never much good at gaming and it probably a bottleneck. Whats the CPU usage per core when playing BF4?

Im using msi to push the core clock to about 1050 & Mem clock to 1300 mHz before instability. It sometimes gives me maybe an extra 5 fps but then cliff dives after about 15-20 mins. Very strange..

Probably too much of an OC for that card, or it isn't getting enough power. Likely the former as overclocking GPUs is like overclocking CPUs; luck of the draw.

But for the most part, I believe your biggest problem with FPS is coming from your CPU.
