Hi I bought a new internal hard drive seagate 2TB (SATA). I already have 160GB HDD (SATA) with Windows 7 installed on it. Then opened the case to install the new 2TB HDD. I removed the SATA data cable & power cable from DVD drive as i dont have a spare SATA data cable to connect the new HDD. After installong the new HDD, I restarted the system, I am getting this screen. Not able to go in to BIOS setup. Can't do anything. always says "Entering setup....." if you press any key like <F2> or <F12> it says "Please wait...."

This is what I get, when I restart the system with the new HDD connected

Can someone help me please

Just a guess..The bios boot order is set to what was the optical drive as the first drive. So it finds an HDD but there is no OS so it does not know what to do. Disconnect the new drive and see if things go to normal. If they do then you can get into the bios and set the boot priority to the OS HDD as first device. What MB do you have? What is using all the internal SATA ports. You can buy a PCIe card that will add SATA ports.

Hello Dogsnake, Actually, after disconnecting the new HDD, I went to BIOS setup and checked the boot order. This was showing my old HDD 160B which has Windows 7 on it. And thats the ONLY one drive shows on the list. (as i have disabled the DVD drive). I restarted the system by disconnecting the new HDD, this works fine. I already 2GB of RAM with 3 more empty slots available

Check for a firmware update from Fujitsu. The motherbd in that uses an nforce 720a chipset which had problems with drives larger than 1Tb if I remember right. It may also be that the drive, which is probably an Advanced Format (AF) drive is not supported at all

I am really not too techi. If you could tell me exactly how do we check for new firmware.

http://www.nvidia.com/object/product_nforce_720a_us.htm...

Click on "support" tab
Click on "If your NVIDIA GeForce® motherboard GPU came as part of a computer purchase"
Click on "Fujitsu"

And that should help you get on your way to finding the solution.
