Xbox 360 Model E to work on VGA Monitor?

I recently got a Xbox 360 "E Model" with the Xbox 360 VGA HD AV Cable to connect to my vga monitor but realized that the new E model Xbox was incompatible with the cable. Is there anyone that successfully connected their Xbox 360 E Model to a VGA Monitor?

P.S I've seen a lot of Monitor Converter Switch Adapters boxes to plug in rca to be converted to VGA on amazon are these any good?

get a hdmi cord plug it to the back of the xbox and then use hdmi to VGA Adapter to plug it to the back of the monitor or get a VGA cord plug it to the monitor and use a VGA to hdmi Adapter to plug it to the back of the xbox

No, those converters you mentioned are not a good idea. You would be converting composite video to VGA. It would look awful. Unless your monitor is a CRT, don't even think about it. RCA only supports up to 480p, and even then it is very noisy/ugly. haybale64 has the best option for you, HDMI to VGA. However, if your monitor has HDMI, use that instead. If your monitor has DVI, get an HDMI to DVI adapter.

If you are using the E model, just use the audio RCA outputs from the AV out. i think it has to be hdmi to hdmi as dvi does video not audio or use the av cords for the xbox

Thats right you wont have sound. Unless the monitor has HDMI as well. Altho that depends if the monitor has speakers

So, my xbox has hdmi, my tv has dvi. I have an adapter for hdmi-DVI, I am getting a picture but no sound.
I tried using a random composite av cable (red,yellow,white) from audio out but didn't get a picture, just sound.
Can anyone offer advice?

You wont get sound if youre using HDMI to DVI. Since DVI doesnt carry sound.

If audio out only carries audio then you wont get a picture
