I am a first time builder and wondering if this is great for a budget I originally wanted to spend 500 but stretched a bit. Any ideas for it to be its best.
Also can this run new games in medium setting? Like FarCry 3 and battle field three also minecraft?
Maybe you guys have a completely different build that would work.

Do you plan on overclocking the computer? If not, just use the stock cooler for now.

As far as I am concerned, CD/DVD drives are optional at this point. You can install Windows 7/8/8.1 from a flash drive.

I might look at a less expensive case. The case doesn't ship free and is kind of pricy to begin with.

You could go with "Team" ram at $60.00. It's a less well known brand but I've built with it multiple times and I haven't run into issues with it before.
