Windows Updates not installing

Hello, first time building my own computer and have Windows 7 installed and activated. Oddly though, after checking the recommended windows updates (149 of them to be exact), the downloads go very slow and are stuck at 0%. A little information about my setup:

Asus M5A97 r2.0 motherboard
AMD FX-8350 cpu
8 gig RAM

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Waiting seemed to do the trick thank you, even though it took about 15 hours to complete..My computer is noticably faster but still has some lag elements when opening programs or IE for that matter. My brother is telling me it may be outdated drivers but I used the motherboard disk that came with the MB itself and it said everything was installed and updated. Is there a way to check which drivers and up-to-date?
