Hello all,

I got my brand new GTX 770 in the post today (EVGA 2GB ACX Cooler 770 SC) and it is an absolute monster..... on paper. Sure, when I tested Crysis 2 and Bioshock Infinite on the card they are fantastic, and the benchmarks I have run all look very impressive. Anyway, just sat down to try out AC4 for the first time, went on the GeForce experience and optimized it (all max settings of course) and since I've started playing I've averaged under 30fps! Its also worth noting at this point that my TV is a 720p display, so not even 1080 and I can't run AC4 properly?! This blows my mind when I think that the PS4 and Xbox One are managing just fine :p.

Anyway, I need some help here. I should also mention that my main system drive is an SSD, and my normal boot time is about 10 seconds, but since I've had the new card it has been 500 million years (About 10 minutes). I really need some help here!!!

Thanks in advance :D.

EDIT: The card is running at 1215MHz as well so its not a clock speed issue.

Also worth noting that I am on all the latest drivers as well, and considering my old GTX 660 could run AC3 at 120fps with VSync off max settings 720p I don't understand what is happening!

Just noticed its very similar to yours, have you had any such problems? And I don't think its GeForce Experiences fault as I used it with my 660 and they all ran smooth as anything.....

Things you could try;

I havent used NE yet so not sure what good uninstalling would do but if the game doesn't like it, or an issue between NE + GTX770 + Game.

If using and game is on steam disable ingame community overlay

Check the TV is running at 60hz, although vsync off wouldn't matter

Aha! Just been rummaging through the box and it says you have to update the BIOS on the computer to get the best functionality, which could explain the computer start up problem. Still unsure about the frame rate but I will attempt to update the BIOS and see what it does. If anyone has any other theories they are still very welcome!

Yeah it was, the statement is as follows:
The EVGA GeForce GTX 700 Series graphics is a cutting edge card that ships with the latest technology, including a full UEFI BIOS. The graphics card BIOS is fully compatible with most motherboards, however, in some cases a motherboard BIOS update is needed for best compatibility.
