GPU for my Aspire X1700

Hi,

I want to upgrade my old X1700 and make it a better PC. As it is right now I can't even play minecraft in full screen. My plans are to upgrade his old Pentium dual-core proccesor to a Core 2 Quad Q9400 and upgrade the PSU. The problem is the GPU. The case is very small and I have read that I need a low profile card. But if I buy a bigger case will I be able to fit in a normal GPU?

I want this PC for some simple gaming but if I can fit a normal GPU I will play Battlefield 4 as the CPU is capable

but will there be any problems with the motherboard? Is it just space problem?

No, it's not custom made. It's an Acer Aspire X1700. My question is: if y change the case with a wider and bigger one will I be able to install a non-low profile gpu?

I have heard the psu on the x1700 is propriatory and is nearly impossible to replace, have you found this to be true? I also have a x1700 and am looking for upgrades but the woefully under powered psu is making things challenging. Did you have any problems finding a replacement psu?
