Question on updating BIOS?

I have an ASUS M5A97 R2.0

I cant find my dang flash drive... So either I have to go to Walmart. Or can I run the driver cd and will I get a pop up saying new drivers are found??? Or to update BIOS must I have a thumb drive? Thanks!

If you have Windows installed, you can use the driver cd to at least get the chipset and network card drivers installed so that you can get onto the Net and download the newest drivers and chipset.

As far as the bios update goes, I'm not certain if ASUS has a bios version that can be updated via Windows or not. It may let you boot to the cd and update the bios with the one on the cd, but not certain.

What point are you exactly at?

This is my first build. Im extremly confused right now with all these update bios and install driver stuff

I have lan and realtek installed. I installed asus ai suite 2.

I have no clue where to find bios update on cd

Why are you updating your bios? Problems? Unless your MB wont boot I see no reason to update your bios.
