I have a 2006 Windows Vista Home Premium. The modem is working fine as well as the Ethernet cable since I am using it with another computer. But when I plug it into this one, there is no blinking light on the Ethernet port. I've tried everything even resetting it to factory default. I'm starting to think the onboard LAN is fried.
Any help is appreciated.

sounds like the chip or port for it died. It happens after a while. Cheap solution, spend $8 and get a PCI or PCI-express LAN card, depending on what free slots your PC has.

Check the Duplex speed in the properties for the network card. Change to either AUTO; 100mb, 1gb, or, as a last resort, 10mb.

I'm not certain what that "hybrid" node is.

have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling your network card drivers?
