Hey everyone, I'm starting to overclock my CPU, and I left the voltage in the bios to automatic and then I overclocked, when I turned my PC on, it was at 1.4 volts, and I thought that it kinda high, so I was wondering, is 1.4 volts too much? And whats safest voltage for overclocking?

What frequency did you overclock to?

4.8GHZ rounded up, otherwise it's 4.76GHZ

Try manually turning the voltage down to 1.3 volts and see how stable it is

As long as temperatures are good, you aren't too high.

You should set the voltage to manual and attempt to lower it if you can.

Ok, at what voltage will there be CPU degradation?

I'm not exactly sure but I'd say somewhere around the 1.5v mark

It´s kinda hard to say something like "From exactly 1.xxV on, you will have degradation."

Most overclockers advice to stay under 1.45V assuming you can keep the temps down.
But I have also seen a few videos with/from JJ from Asus who said he wouldn´t advice on going any higher than 1.3V (or I believe it was even lower than that) for a permanent overclock.

So a 1.38volts for a permanent oc is kinda isn't it....
