Last week i bought some g skill ram only 4gb as i was short on money. This week however i have some more money

My question is it ok to buy another 4gb for a total of 8gb using 4 dimms. As long as im using the same model # of ram??

Solution
Make sure to run MEMTEST www.memtest.org

Go into your motherboard BIOS (DEL) and make sure your CPU and RAM frequencies are set to the proper default values. You may need to choose "XMP" (Intel) or similar for the RAM to switch to its default.

In some cases you may need a motherboard BIOS update for the RAM to be properly detected.
How are you using 4 dimms, if you bought 4gb's last week, and want to buy another 4gb's this week?

As for your question, if you bought the exact same ram, chances are you'll have no issues. It's not a guarantee though, but you'll probably be fine. That's assuming you are just using 2 x 4gb's sticks that weren't sold as a dual channel set.
