With my parts (already purchased) Just need someone to put it all together, don't feel very comfortable installing a motherboard, i've never done it before and wouldn't want do it wrong, if there is a company that does this please provide a name, a business associate of mine would put it together for 180 dollars, but I feel as if that is horribly overpriced.

The only "hard" part of the hardware is properly installing the CPU cooler.

As for software, you want to make sure after Windows is installed to apply the motherboard drivers from the motherboard support site etc.

$180 is pretty typical if you want someone to put it together for you.

Time to build:
It's going to vary. Probably a few HOURS when you factor in doing some preliminary reading, driver download installs, and of course Microsoft Updates take a while though that's automatic.

*The MOTHERBOARD MANUAL is an important thing to read for DDR3 memory placement and other tips.

**Linus' from Tech Tips and others have some good Youtube videos if you want to:
a) Learn how to install a CPU cooler

b) Watch a PC get built...
yes.. at that price they not a "friend"..
But does depend what you expect.. if you will go back to them with every little niggle.. or expect them fix/manage it if a part fails on build.. its not a stupid price...
if all goes well - he makes good money.. if it does not go well - they lose..
and since is your build. .its a risk.. so not unreasonable they cover themselves..

I do it for free for my friends.. but Jez.. do I Put myself under pressure.. :(

Cheers

In my country most shops offer assembly for a small price (€50). Although building it yourself is not that hard. I agree that it's better if you mess around with an old pc first but if you take your time it is doable. If you are careful and know what you are doing there is not much that can go wrong.

for example cpu installation. yes it can easily go wrong, but.. if you just look at pictures in the manual and watch a video it will be simple.

EDIT: haha same video as above posted

I've compared my builds to what companies like IBuyPower offer and the markup is usually $200-$400 higher from a custom computer designer/builder. $180 seems fair if he is going through the entire process. Loading all the software takes longer then slapping together the hardware. Especially if he'll offer up some tech support if things go wrong after a few days of use.

Just built my 1st PC today. Ive watch a lot of videos from Carey Holzman. Makes great building vids!

Its way easier than what it appear to be. I had my built in like 30 min. Then installed windows. Shut down and did some cable managment. Now i got a nice rig!
