I just got my new Seagate 2TB internal HD today. Hooked everything up, booted up, went to BIOS and all looked ok from there. Windows 7 boots up but only shows my Samsung SSD 120GB and my WD 300GB Raptor HD the Seagate doesn't show up. However if I got to device manager it shows up there. What's going on? Why can't I see all my hard drives?

Have you used disk management to initialize the disk yet? When new a hard drive contains nothing at all.

Hold start + R and then type diskmgmt.msc in the run window and hit enter.

You may be asked to initialize the new disk(you should in fact since it is new). you are fine with MBR for drives 2tb and under. GTP should be used for larger drives(gpt drives can only boot with uefi boards.).

At this point you can make a partition(create volume and partition the drive) and format the drive for use.

Thank you! I figured it was something simple and easy to fix :) I knew I was forgetting something!
