Hi All,

I am setting up a new CPU with the following:

Cooler Master Elite 431 Plus Mid Tower Cabinet
Corsair CMPSU-700GUK 700 Watts PSU
ZOTAC NVIDIA GeForce GTX 760 AMP Edition 2 GB Graphics Card
ASRock Z87 Pro3 Motherboard
Intel 3.4 GHz LGA1150 4670K i5 4th Generation Processor
Corsair Vengeance DDR3 4 GB (2 x 4 GB) PC RAM

Please suggest if the components are compatible with each other. Also is the Cabinet and PSU i am using good for this setup or should i go with something else?

Thanks in advance

Everything is okay together. Only a suggestion I have is that you could downgrade toa 650w. It would be fine for a single gpu and some overclocking.

Hi symsus,

I had initially thought of going with the CMPSU-650TX 650 WATTS PSU however strangely the cost of this PSU is more than the cost of the 700W one. Also I read somewhere that having higher Watt CPU keeps it cool. So thought better to go with the 700W one. Any other reason I might want to go with 650W or is the 700W fine?

Thanks!

everything is compatible, only thing i would do would be to add fans to the rear exhaust and top for better airflow. fans for decent ones can run about $10+ per fan so maybe better looking at a different case that comes with fans already, also would recommend a after market cpu cooler whether ur overclocking or not as the stock cooler will work but can get noisy and temps will surely be warmer. Beside adding fans and or a cpu cooler its all good.

That's a bit weird. You can stick with the 700W then and it would be fine :)  I'm not sure about that model as to whether it's reputable though so might need to do some research.

i think that series is replacing the cx series but fully modular if i remember, 700watts will leave room for overclocking and sli, unless it saves quite a bit of money, theres no reason to lower it.

Hi lazyboy947,

Thanks for the input! I see that the 431 plus cabinet comes with one inbuilt Front 120mm fan. But sure could add more. As for the cabinet itself, is it good one or should i go with something else? I mean from the wiring and space perspective. As far as the reviews I read about this one, it seemed good enough. Any suggestions?

Thanks!

Yeah everythings fine.

Just a suggestion, since you are getting a 4670k, I assume that you'll be overclocking. Why not get a decent aftermarket cooler to help you overclock the hell outta that CPU??.. ;)

it'll be able to fit everything no problem, there seems to be decent amount of space for cable management and beside cable management there really isnt anything else beside the lack of fans for airflow, at least adding an exhaust will help. From personal experience finding a case with pre installed fans is normally cheaper then buying fans afterwards and obviously the bigger the fan the quieter the pc unless the cpu cooler or gpu fans are noisy lol.

If u like the case or on a budget its good just at least add the rear exhaust fan, and if ur willing to spend more then look for one that u obviously like with fans, and from a good brand. I find that if u dont like the case it just doesnt make it seem completely worth it lol. unless u dont care about looks then well airflow is the only thing to be worried about lol

Corsair 230t has 3 fans, no side panel window but matters on ur prefrences, the thermaltake armor revo gene has 2 200mm and a 140mm with a slight windows for $80 whether or not u like these just go look at something u like with more than a single fan and read the reviews to see on quality, and obviously must support atx mobos, psu and most should fit the 760 as its a shorter card.

Then again u can just add a single 120mm fan to the exhaust and be done, u can buy the cheaper fans they normally just make more noise and do a decent job, i bought a 4 pack of cooler master 120mm fans for like $13 and they work just fine, its for a backup pc so i didnt mind the noise

Was just checking for other similar products with 2 or so fans and found these two - Cooler Master K281 and Cooler Master HAF 912 Combat. Both look good enough and have 2 fans each though they have a price difference of around 20$. I suppose i could go with either. Any ideas?

Thanks!

Both support atx motherboards and psus, and have at least two fans, if u like them pick one lol both seem quite good and cable management seems good too.
