My friend is having a problem where he disconnects from an online game after several minutes. He has tested this with both League of Legends and World of tanks, and is definitely an issue with his laptop and not his ISP or router, as this continued to happen from a different network, where I was playing League of Legends without disconnects. Also, even though he disconnects from whatever game, he is still able to access the internet completely fine. I'm curious as to what is causing this and want to help him solve this problem.

Hmmm very strange. He may want to try setting a continual ping away to his access point so he can check for dropouts when this occurs. It may be that LOL etc are more sensitive to the dropouts than web browsing.
Is he running any firewall software?
If this is on wireless he may want to try playing on Ethernet to rule out an issue with his wifi card?
