I have a series of strange issues, possibly a overloaded PSU? I built a computer a year ago, and everything was running fine when I left for college. When I come back, my brother was complaining about it "randomly turning itself off. I check it out, and the CPU overheat LED is flashing. I decide to buy a better liquid heat sink, which may have been a waste. I install it, and subsequently get the beep code for a memory error for some amount of time, before the CPU overheats again. I triple checked every connection, to no avail. I suspect my PSU might be failing but I don't know for sure.

Summary; After the installation of a new heatsink, I am experiencing a memory error and continued CPU overheating. I suspect a PSU issue.

Here are the Specifications

-650 watt power supply

-Intel Desktop Motherboard LGA1155 DDR3 1600 ATX - BOXDZ77GA-70K

-Intel Core i7-3770K Quad-Core

-MSI NVIDIA GeForce GTX 670 OC 2GB

-Corsair Vengeance 8 GB ( 2 x 4 GB )

-120 GB solid state drive

-500 GB disk drive

-Cooler Master Seidon 120M with 120mm radiator fan (replacement for stock heat sink)

with the newer cpu from intel there lids are soft. if you cranked down to hard on the cpu cooler you can cause ram issues. or if the cpu cooler back plate is shorting out the mb. for the over heat did you replace the thearmal grease when you put the new cpu cooler on and is it power on and working?? may have a dead cooler.

I did a fresh application of thermal paste after cleaning the last stuff off. The cooler is brand new, and it's LED lights up when I turn it on. Maybe I got a defective product?
