I want to know the definition and pixel quality of these various video formats :-

720p
Blu-Ray

Which is the best among these, or in what ways one is better from the other ?

1080p and 720p are resolutions. They basically translate to how many pixels are on the screen measured from top to bottom. Bigger is better.

Blu-ray is a high definition standard for recording onto disc.

BD RIP I'm guessing is a ripped (copied) blu ray disc.

DVD - same as blu ray but not quite as good.

DVD RIP - ripped DVD?

x264 - dunno. You lost me on that one. Google search says it's an encoding format but I have no idea of the quality.

In terms of quality.

The type of media: Blu-Ray > DVD

The minimum amount of pixels: 1080p > 720p

BDRip = BluerayDisc Rip > DVDRip = DVD Rip

x264 is an video encoder. Like XviD before it, and DivX before that.

Don't download movies illegally.
