Hi, I'm building a gaming computer and its the first time I'm doing it on my own. So far it's gone well, but I'm still confused regarding which PSU to pick however.

The specs are as follows:

MSI Z87-GD65-GAMING ATX Motherboard
Intel Core i7 4770K Quad Core (3.50GHz)
Corsair Hydro Series H100i (CPU Cooler)
Samsung 24x Retail SATA DVD Writer
NZXT Phantom - Big Tower Chassis (Will be using all its fans)
Asus Nvidia GeForce GTX 780 DirectCU II 3GB GDDR5 Graphics Card
WD 1TB Desktop SATA Hard Drive - Black
Samsung 840 Series Pro 128GB 2.5 inch SATA Solid State Drive
Corsair CMY8GX3M2A1866C9 Vengeance Pro Series 16GB (4x4GB)

Thinking of going with a Corsair Fully Modular Power Supply Unit, just need to know what how much I'll be needing to feed the above.

SLI will require at least 750 - 850. If that is in your plans, the RM1000 makes a lot of sense.

600-650 watts. Since you like Corsair and modular... HX650. You could also do the TX650M but it's only semi modular.

Worth going RM750 or RM1000 for the extra punch? Especially since I consider overclocking CPU and adding an additional GTX 780 in the future.

Thanks for the fast response and input. 1000RM it is.

You actually only need a good 550W for that build. 250 for the GPU, less than 100 for the CPU. Leaves plenty for the rest of the system, even with OCing.

But do you want the option of adding another 780 down the track? If so, more like a good 750 or 850.

This Corsair RM550 is fully modular, for $110: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817139053

If you want to SLI later, this platinum AX760 is on special for $140 ($160, then a $20 rebate): http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817139042 - that's an absolutely premium unit, which I wouldn't normally recommend. But you might need an 850W HX or RM unit, which are similarly priced.

The Modular TX650 is $120 (with a $10 rebate) - It's only Bronze, where the RM550 is Gold and $10 less (exlcuding the rebate - or the same with the rebate). I'd go one of the two suggested above on current prices... assuming you're in the US of course.

Good luck.
