Hi I have an AOC monitor for my PC and am having trouble displaying at full quality. The screen should display at 1920 x 1080 but switches to 1280 x 720 by default and generally a warning dialog box will appear stating "The system has detected a problem with the connection between your computer and the DisplayPort display that will prevent you from using highest resolutions and/or refresh rates" When I try to switch to a higher resolution my display begins to shake. I also notice that the display shrinks down from 1280 x 720 when my computer comes out of sleep mode. This is generally fixed by unplugging and plugging the display port connection.

Do you know what might be causing this? I have checked my drivers for the display and graphics card and the system says that they are up-to-date

My model is a I2369VM monitor.
My graphics card is an AMD Firepro V5900
I am using Windows 8 OS
I am using a Display Port connection (Tried DVI previously but this did not seem to work)
Asus z87 Motherboard
Intel Core i5 4670K Prozessor 3,4GHz, quadcore

Well it does not look like you have an HDMI connection on your video card or else I would have told you to try that. I have had an issue before using displayport on my old Samsung monitor where it would stop recognizing the source or whatever, but when I switched to HDMI, it fixed the problem with connection issue. However something that used to fix my issue with displayport was if the error occurs, just unplug the AC plug from the back of the monitor wait 5 seconds and plug it back in and see if that works. Hope you find a permanent solution. :) if not, just contact AOC support.

Yeah unfortunately my graphics card only works with display port and dvi(why that doesnt work I have no idea) I used to do the trick you mentioned of unplugging and plugging but that doesnt seem to be working anymore. I have already emailed the AOC support so hopefully they are able to get back in contact soon.
