Recently I used SymMover to free up space on my SSD by moving a few data heavy programs to a software folder on my HDD. Now however when I try to delete or install updates or new programs to this folder I get an access denied prompt despite being the only admin on the machine. I have tried taking ownership of the folder as well as the whole HDD. I am able to gain permissions for the entire drive except for this one folder even though it's ownership is listed under me. Any ideas?

Right-click the Software folder
Click Properties
Click Security
Click Edit to change permissions
Locate your user account and tick the 'Full Control' box, then press ok.
Go back to the security menu and click advanced
Locate your user and click the box at the bottom to enable inheritance (replace all child objects).

Post back to let us know how you got on.

When I attempted to tick the full control box it was greyed out and wouldn't change. I tried the next step and the option to enable inheritance was also greyed out.
