Hi I'm just recently having issues launching games or apps that won't go full screen.

Basically I launch them the screen goes black and then nothing.

Its happening on Rome Total War and both Unigine Heaven and Valley but other games work fine.

I can run Heaven and Valley in windowed mode and Rome is running you can even here the game starting up audio wise.

Things I've tried -

Alt - Enter, this has worked twice for Rome but not instantly and I haven't been able to do it since.

I've uninstalled my latest driver on the GPU and it hasn't worked so I've reinstalled.

The only thing I've done recently is installed an SSD other than that no changes.

Please can you give me some suggestions.

I've just installed Valley and Heaven and their both having this issue.

It must be something to do with the launch command but I don't know much about it.

Solved it.

My new SSD settings had something to do with it when I set it to thin provisioning, weird though, I'll have to find out what particular setting makes it do it.

EDIT: Just to update it was Samsung Magician, its def this app that can interfere with games going full screen.
I disabled it from starting in my boot up and everything works fine again now.

As is discussed here, its a common problem with this app.

You can disable it from starting up at boot by typing msconfig in the windows search bar and going to the start up tab and un-checking Samsung Magician.

It won't undo any of your SSD settings it just stops the app running in the background which isn't needed.

Hope this helps anyone who has the same issues, took me a while (and going through a lot of BS advice on the net) to find this simple solution.
