So basically this came along by me noticing that my CPU is said to be running at a lower ghz than expected (2.81 compared to 3.8) I then realised many people was having this problem and to turn of AMD cool or something like that in the BIOS. I did that and it still says I am running at 2.81ghz. I then did a stress test and it stayed at 2.81ghz.

I then decided to look up updating my BIOS. I went on the gigabyte website for my motherboard and then went to download the latest BIOS and it gave my this error message [ http://gyazo.com/9754d70f9b5cfa74db560b78a0260238 ] I looked up for a 64 bit version of the bios and couldn't find one then looked for a Windows 8.1 BIOS and in the drivers section and couldn't find one. All that came up was a drivers for Windows 7 64 bit.

Does this mean my motherboard is not compatible with Windows 8.1 or what. This could explain why i've been getting alot of BSOD'S :(

If someone could post any help I will be thankful

Thanks Danny

You need to read up on how to update your bios. There is not a specific Windows 8 or 64 bit bios, the bios works on the motherboard and should be installed in the bios depending on your motherboard -- read your manual. Your manual will also have information in setting the speed of your processor.

If you have other questions, it would help to list at least your motherboard and CPU models.
