Hi if anyone could help it would be greatly appreciated I'm currently in the process of ordering the parts for my new pc first build ever but I've got plenty of tech support from an it consultant who I'm good friends with anyway I'm looking for a gpu to play battlefield 4 but specifically what is the best nvidia card to get a good solid 60fps in the game I know amd will be the obvious answer due to mantle coming out soon but I'm truthfully not a big fan of the cards so only nvidia suggestions if possible I was looking at the asus gtx 770 as the card I want because of its overall high quality and performance but as it only comes with 2gb of vram I was unsure if it was enough for bf4 forgot to mention I'll be playing at 1080p essentially I'm looking for the best bang for buck card to play bf4 by nvidia and that will last me atleast a year or two before I really need to update it Any help would be be greatly appreciate thanks for reading my question

The 770 won't manage solid 60fps at all settings ultra, but probably with a mix of high and ultra settings. 2GB is enough as long as you don't have MSAA 8x and everything turned all the way up. A 770 will do you just fine

I forgot to say I would like to play on mostly ultra settings sorry about that ok Thanks for the quick response if you don't mind me asking what does Msaa actually do I know it means microscopic anti aliasing? But what does it do?

It actually means Multi-Sampling Anti-Aliasing. Basically what it does is it renders the object at a multiplied resolution (2x, 4x, 8x, 16x) then shrinks it down so that it fits the resolution of your monitor. Since the graphics card renders the object at a higher resolution, there are less jaggies (aliasing). Then when it shrinks it down, the aliasing is reduced.

Ahhh ok thanks so is that similar to resolution scaling just in x2 x4 etc instead of percentage And what would the optimal amount of Msaa be for the 770 then?

2x MSAA + FXAA would be the best option in my opinion. FXAA reduces jaggies even more with virtually no performance hit, but it does blur some textures
