just downloaded windows 8.1, text is weird... HELP?

Super late but here goes:
1. open Control Panel
2. in the search box, type clear text
3. click on the result that says "Adjust ClearType text"
4. have the box next to "Turn on ClearType" on and click "Next"
5. follow prompts
