Confusion with Sata connectors?

The connection ports to my Asus Maximus VI Formula are all SATA 6gbs connectors. But it also comes with some Serial ATA 6gbs_E1/2/3/4. They are all red but i can distinguish the difference with my motherboard manual. But what is the main difference? I have an SSD, HD and a optical drive. Does that mean I have to connect some specific SSD or HD to an "E" to get better performance or a faster response time? And in there a certain Sata cable I need to use, or will all the 6gb cable connectors work the same?

Solution
Looking at the SATA connectors from the motherboards edge, the left four connectors E1/2/3/4 are controlled by the ASMedia controller. The right six are controlled by the Intel Z87 and set to AHCI by default and can be used to setup a RAID set. Port 5 top right is disabled if you use the M.2 slot on the mPCIe Combo II. Look at pages 1-40 and 1-41. There is no difference in the SATA cables except some are few a right angle connectors.
