I am looking for a router that allows for a hard drive to be attached and can be easily shared over the network. No extra software needed to be installed. Just a basic "Map Network Drive" through windows or it automatically appears in the Network portion of File Explorer. All the computers are running Windows 7.
I also would like a Guest network, and would prefer something that has Wireless AC as well. My budget really depends on what is available and just how good it is. But $200 is probably max budget, I was looking at the Netgear Nighthawk router and am considering it. I also tried the Linksys EA6300, but it was a pain on permissions and even after help we couldn't get it to work (I could connect to the network drive and copy, but couldn't delete anything), so maybe a little more user friendly.
All devices are either wireless-n, ac, or at lowest g.
Please help me find something. My Belkin wireless-n dualband is crapping out on me. (5GHz, range keeps crashing and it brings the whole router down with it.
Please help me and thank you so much.
