Approximate Purchase Date: ASAP, but will hold on a few weeks if there’s a hardware release/price drop, etc.
Budget Range: £1000 ± £100 total
System Usage from Most to Least Important: Gaming, Music production (only occasionally)
Are you buying a monitor: No
Parts to Upgrade: It’d be a new build
Do you need to buy OS: No
Preferred Website(s) for Parts: No preference – whatever’s cheapest!
Location: Croydon, Surrey, UK
Parts Preferences: No preference – I care most for performance!
Overclocking: No
SLI or Crossfire: Maybe – should I?
Your Monitor Resolution: I have a spare Acer V234H which I’d use for the screen. Not sure what resolution it’s at
Additional Comments: I don’t have too much free time, so I need a fast booting machine that’ll just work when I squeeze some time in for gaming. I’d like it to be as future proof as possible, as I will have some money later down the line for upgrades. I’m mainly a strategy gamer, so stuff I’d like to be running at ridiculous resolutions and framerates would be things like Rome II, SimCity V, etc - and all upcoming graphics hungry strategy/FPS games.
And Most Importantly, Why Are You Upgrading: About time to get a gaming PC!
Hey guys
OK, so I hope that the info at the top makes sense and outlines what I’m trying to do here and why. If not, feel free to question of course!
So, I modified a £1000 Gaming PC build that another forum member put down (can’t find his thread now) the only difference being that I took out the monitor on his set of components, bringing the price down from £1000 and giving me some more money to play with)
Any thoughts or advice on how to squeeze the most performance outta £1000? I have £1000 set aside from this and would like to make the most of it.
Been a while since I’ve been on the PC gaming scene and so any advice is appreciated
Cheers!
