Upgrading HD 7770 to ???

Greetings,

I have an HD 7770 and was thinking about upgrading. Looking to spend somewhere in the $200-$300 range. So the question is, what would be the best graphics card for this system. I want a card that would be a noticeable upgrade, otherwise I might just hold out on this card for another year or too until I build a new PC. Thoughts?

If you can stretch your budget with about 40 bucks you should be able to afford a GTX 770.

best bet would be a 760 you'll notice a massive amount of improvement

Go with the 760, or the 770, you will see a great increase in performance the 760 is ~160% faster which is amazing and the 770 is even more so. I would either wait for R280/R280x's to come back down to reasonable prices (and the good cooling solution non-reference cars to be more common),
or see what you can get a 770 or so for.
If you go a tier lower (R270/760), it will be a performance increase, but whether it's $300 worth is pretty subjective.

If the cost to go to a R270x/760ti is closer to $200, then I would say the swap becomes more worth it.
Again kind of subjective, although the extra card performance combined with a lot more vram will be a pretty big jump for you, and let your cpu shine compared to your current gpu.

These cards are quite a bit longer than the 7770, be sure you have the space.

That's really too bad, the MSI version of this card is pretty good, maybe go for gigabyte though, they are kind of blue, more like black though, maybe you can find a sapphire version of the card :0

Probably just gonna bite the bullet and get the MSI. Not like anyone sees the inside of my case anyways. It doesn't even have a window.
