Need help picking a processor

So this I sit for my latest build I have all components installed except processor so my socket in my motherboard is LGA1155 and I need a processor no more than 300 dollars and sleuthing that can kick A** for my build so help me out guys thanks

I Definetly have a tough decision I mean the i7 seems really nice but the i5 k version can be over clocked I have a corsair h50 water cooler idk if that will do the job for the over clocking of the i5 and I've never over clocked before and this is my 3rd build I've just never actually put a thought into over clocking

Now that I know you have a water cooler, there is no reason you shouldn't get the 3570k, you can easily overclock and keep it cool. You could probably get 4,5ghz out of it under water easily.

Mobo- Asrock Z77 Extreme 4
CPU-?
GPU- Msi something I have to look at the box
HD- 1tb seagate 7200rpm
Psu-650w rose well honey edition
Case- enermax hoplite st
Ram-8gb(2 sticks) corsair vengeance ddr3
