Maximus VI Gene Question

Solution
Yes. My Maximus VI Extreme came with the ROG mPCI-E Combo II unit, it has built in dual band AC, and an mSATA slot for things like Samsungs upcoming mSATA 840 Evo. If you could get your hands on that i'd definately recommend it. Otherwise, that Intel Centrino is mini PCI-E or mPCI-E, so you're good to go.

I've not seen it available through a retailer, although I have seen a tonne of the older "Combo I" sold on eBay. Again its not just the ASUS one that will do the job, but if you can get your hands on one that would best my first choice. Just do some searching, anything that's listed as mPCI-E, sometimes listed as "Half Mini" or something along those lines. It seems in this video (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1uu23eBtLd8) that to insert the intel wifi mPCI-E card, you need to have the Combo (Video is Maximus V Gene, not VI). I don't know if this differs on the M6G, but my M6E came with the wireless card installed into the Combo II card. I found a thread on a different forum of people discussing their choices for wifi on the M6G, linked below. Good luck.

I stand corrected, it seems the the Maximus VI Gene DOES include the mPCI-E Combo II Unit, albeit WITHOUT the wifi card like mine. All you'll need to buy is the card like the one that you originally linked, or similar. :)
