Will I be able to game intensively and do game design without lag? Also what cases, motherboards, power supplies will fit?

For the motherboard I recommend an AsRock Extreme4 Z77. Very solid board with good overclocking ability at a great price.

For a power supply, 600w+ is recommended, just like Sevenater said.
This is a good one: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817139005
You want an ATX case with good airflow. I recommend this one: http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=7693057&CatId=1509
Hope I could help!

It says that the z77 Azrock extreme 4 motherboard is compatible with 1866MHz 8Gb RAM Corsair, but it does not list the 1600 MHz. Will the motherboard still be compatible with this RAM? Also thanks for the other two suggestions, i put them on my list.

1866mhz is the max it can go, anything under will work as well.
