So I got a new headset (model is irrelevant) that is plug n' play. It works perfectly on every other PC in the house except my main one. On the others it simply uses Windows Update finds the USB driver and it's done. On mine it makes a connect/disconnect noise at the same time and then fails to find anything for it.

I've even tried backing up the drivers on one of the functioning PCs and forcefully installing them onto my main PC with no luck (says that it still can't recognize the device despite having EVERYTHING it needs).

In Device Manager the device under Unknown Device but does have the correct name. I'm really out of ideas on what to do it feels like Windows is deliberately preventing me from using a device that it clearly has all the requirements for.
