Intel or AMD

I have just learned that a build I am working on would have not done what I wanted it to so I will restart. I am currently on the edge of getting an AMD or Intel motherboard. I have never really done much research on motherboards.

I would like to know if Intel CPUs work more efficiently in Intel Mobos and if AMD CPUs work more efficiently in AMD mobos.
Also I would like to know if an AMD GPU works more efficiently (ignoring the hit from a 3.0 card in a 2.0 slot) in an AMD mobo.

Solution
Intel CPU´s only work in Intel boards and AMD CPU´s only work in AMD boards! AMD GPU´s work equally well in INTEL or AMD system with INTEL having the advantage supporting PCIe ver 3.0 currently.
can you explain what you mean by wouldn't have done what you wanted it to?

Intel chips will only work with intel chipsets (many board manufacturers, Asus, Asrock, MSI, Gigabyte etc. ) Amd will on work with AMD chipsets (again with many board manufacturers)

Can you explain what you want your machine to do and what the budget is?

AMD cpu do work only with AMD mobo.

so are talking about cpu or video cards?

Intel is better buy ir budget can handle it. AMD is for cheaper builds.

Video card's is simple. 1 is resolution and other is game what you want to play.
Best is buy more expensive video card than really expensive cpu.

Just tell us budget and we make best suggestion possible for you.

It as an all AMD build and I wanted to Crossfire an APU and a GPU but had learned that it would not work.

You say that but my current build has a APU and GPU crossfired. Granted both the GPU and APU are old. When I first crossfired them I doubled my performance and frames on most games.

It all depends on budget. Intel has the performance lead and I would only consider AMD for a budget build FX6300 or FX83xx depending on how high the budget is. Intel I5 'K' series are simply superior in most tasks to the FX 83xx CPU´s that I would consider them except if I was limited on budget pretty similar to this http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/gaming-cpu-review-overclock,3106.html

So if you did CF and it di make benefit fine. But new cpu + video card is not same.
