Yes it is good if matched with the right CPU and GPU which both really drive gaming performance.

Neither allow for overclocking. You need a z87 motherboard for overclocking. But out of those two I would get the Asus

B85 chipset board is fine for a no "K" series CPU!

Look at the AsRock Extreme4 Z87. It comes in ATX and mATX. It can be bought for $130

K CPU has unlocked multiplier and is easily OC on Z87 board by simply raining the multiplier in BIOS/UEFI. Using the Genie will just overclock a little bit nowhere close to the CPU potential!
