Kernel-Power event 41 critical

Hey guys!

Posting it under the motherboards, but I am not sure what is wrong with it.

This is 11 months old Ivy Bridge 3770K processor-based audio production computer- no gaming. It has:

Asus P8Z77 V-Pro with Thunderbolt (BIOS updated to latest)
3770K
Asus AMD 7850 graphics
Thermaltake 850 W Bronze PSU
Corsair Vengeance 16 Gb memory at 1600 Mhz
Intel-520, 240 Gb SSD
Toshiba Q- series 240Gb SSD
Seagate Baracuda 2Tb x 2 HDDs

The computer randomly restarts at different times. I only use this computer for audio recording (Cakewalk Sonar) for only few hours 3-4 times a week, but my event log shows between 10 and 20 events every month. It has events every month of the year. I do nt remember that many shut downs, But I often would leave computer unattended for n hour, and note that it is off, and I don't remember turning it off.

The major issue with it is that when it restarts- it kills audio software without asking to save, so any work I have opened is disappearing. I often record other people and I can not have it shut down in the middle of the session.

I don't know where to start. The power supply is Bronze- certified and Thermaltake is nice company... I need some kind of testing tool to figure out what is going on with this. Thank you.

I do not have latest Catalyst probably... How do I install newer one- do I uninstall old one or install it over the top? The BIOS is updated in November, and drivers all installed to my best ability. I had another issue with this system- it was going in to restart loop when particular MIDI controller (Native Instruments Maschine MK2) was connected via USB, so in attempt to fix that, I was checking all drivers I could think of. That problem did not go away, but I jus don't connect controller before I boot Windows and avoid issue. But shutting down and restarting is been going on since January when I built this computer and I think it got worse.

Na- I dont think so. I can not find it right now to check, even if I wanted to update it. on Z motherboard it is right there... This one says Memory- Auto. And it is 10, 10, 10, 27.

My other build was having restart loop and it would say, "Overclocking failed", went away when I disabled XMP. But for this computer I dont think it was ever set and it is not anywhere on the surface.

It really is not there. May be it only appear if you need it? (well- I need it- lol). I know exactly what you talking about but I dont see it. I built 3 computers this year with Asus MoBos- this one was first.

I did "Load optimized defaults". BIOS updated. Is it my PSU? 18 Kernel Power errors a month on a computer that works 6-10 hours a week is way too many. Any other ideas? Thank you.

I see you have GSkill Trident 2400 Mhz. On my other build I have GSkill Pipjaw 1866 Mhz. I set XMP profile and it would work sometime but then go in to restart loop with "Failed to overclock message". I had to disable XMP. The motherboard was Asus Z87 Pro V- any idea why?

I put my music computer in backup mode. I am thinking to take my chances and update to Windows 8.1. I have so many software plugins installed... So I can not see BIOS now, but last time I looked- I could not find XMP profile. Will look in the manual...
