Yesterday I ended up buying a Litepower 550W (long story why I got it) and after hours and hours of research, I'm still not sure if it is that bad. There are a lot of mixed opinions.

The 550W isn't supported by many to no sites, so here's the specs:

550W Peak
500W Continuous.
3.3V@22A; 5v@19A; 12V1@24A; 12V2@21A
Has 2 PCI Express connectors (same connectors as the 500W)

I've been stressing the PSU for hours with the following specs with no issues:

Gigabyte H67MA
Intel i5 2400
2 x 4GB standard RAM
Gigabyte GTX 560 Overclocked
Seagate 1TB HDD (can't remember what model)

My previous PSU was a Gigabyte ODIN 470W, which also ran fine.

Now here's my question:

I'm buying a second hand MSI 670 PE from a friend: will the PSU be fine?

I'm from South Africa, things are expensive here.

Hi - what is the exact model # ? Many of the Lite Power models are built by Solytech or HEC, both
bad OEM's. However, occasionally there is a Litepower OEM'd by CWT, whch bodes better.

But, I don't find a Litepower 550 in the TT database, so post model # & I'll see what I can find.

The Litepower series in general should be avoided, but you might have an acceptable unit.

The Thermaltake Litepower series now offers you all these characteristics.
