I'm looking for a pretty powerful future proof system.

Since I'm only looking at this comp for gaming, what would people recommend?

AMD FX8350
AMD FX8320

Or

Intel i7 4770

Intel i5 4670K

My current specs
Tower: HAF922

GPU: Gigabyte R9 280X 3072 MB GDDR5

Mobo: AsRock 970 Extreme3

PSU: Corsair 650watt

Ram: RipJaw X 8gb.

I really just want to know which one I should be looking at. I have the budget for the i7. But If its not better than the 8350, whats the point?

Any recommendations would be helpful.

You have an AM3+ MoBo so it'll be cheaper to go with the AMD FX-8350. The i7 isn't ideal when you look at the in-game price/performance ratio. The i5 on the other hand is a pretty powerful CPU for the money, but the FX-8350 is a GREAT overclocker and the price/performance ratio beats everything.

Sorry, should've said. I never overclock, and I'm sh** scared of liquid cooling. I stick with air flow cooling haha.

I really just want a beast which comes out of the box and I'm not to worried about the price. I just want the most powerful out of those 4. How much better is the i5/i7?

Then you really should go for the FX-8350. The FPS difference isn't big. Both, the i5 and FX-8350 will get 60 FPS in games like BF3 with VSync on. The difference in the UK is about 20-30 pounds as far as I remember from when I was ordering my parts just before Boxing Day :p

This but I heard somewhere AMD CPUs use more power. Is this true?
